The evening Ganga Aarti begins with Rudra chanting, ringing bells, incense, and the lighting of diyas. It usually runs for about an hour starting at:
6:00–7:00 PM in summer (Mar–Oct)
5:30–6:30 PM in winter (Nov–Feb)
This serene ceremony is free, inclusive, and open to everyone—no prior booking required. For a guaranteed seat, you can donate (e.g. ₹350 and “aarti by your name” includes a pandit-led pooja).[1]
Arrive 30–45 minutes early to secure a good viewing spot, especially during festivals or peak months.
Parmarth Niketan’s daily schedule includes:
Morning prayer (prarthana), yoga sessions (Hatha, Vinyasa, Yoga Nidra), meditation, satsang, and a sacred Ganga Aarti in the afternoon.
Yoga classes and sessions are free and optional—you’re welcome to attend whichever sessions you like.

Triveni Ghat (~2 km away) — most famous for the Ganga Aarti with throngs of devotees, ritual baths, and temples like Gita Mandir & Lakshmi-Narayan Temple.
Tera Manzil Temple (~2 km away) — a 13-storey riverside temple offering panoramic views and statues of numerous deities.
Neer Garh and Patna Waterfalls (~4 km away) — ideal for a refreshing nature trek and waterfall experience.
Be sure to explore across Ram Jhula bridge—there are quaint cafés like Freedom Café and Maharishi Café, countless street-food stalls (don’t miss momos!), and vibrant markets.
For a more peaceful aarti, try Shatrughan Ghat—locals describe it as less crowded and more intimate than Parmarth or Triveni.
Consider a day trip to Vashisht Cave (~15 km from Rishikesh) for a quieter spiritual ambiance.
For adrenaline seekers: rafting in Shivpuri, bungee jumping, camping by the river, or hiking nearby jungle trails.
